Hi, I am Dr. Jeffrey Kleinman, owner of Dixie Dental & Denture Center
After graduation with honors from Mayfield High School in 1969, I went on to Miami University of Ohio. I received a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry with numerous scholarship awards- Cum Laude, General Honors, and Phi Beta Kappa.
I applied to two dental schools, Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland and The Ohio State University College of Dentistry. I was accepted to both schools but ultimately chose The Ohio State University College of Dentistry. I worked really hard, studying all the time and achieving several honors- Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honorary, Alpha Omega Outstanding Scholarship Awards (twice) and the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology outstanding achievement award. I always had an interest in dentures while in dental school, doing double the requirements in prosthodontics (dentures). I graduated in the top 5% of my class.
My residency was completed at The Ohio State University College of Medicine in Anesthesiology under Bill Hamelburg, M.D. and the late Morgan Allison, DDS. I worked 70-80 hours per week and was only paid $6000 for the entire year, but it was worth it! I learned so much about medicine and dentistry, making it the best year I ever had in school.
Coming out of the residency, I thought for sure I would go on to be an oral surgeon. I soon found out that my strongest interests were in anesthesia and removable prosthodontics (dentures). What a great combination it was - sedating a patient for extractions and making full or partial dentures to replace the missing teeth. To this day, Dixie Dental and Denture Center is just what I hoped it would be; a well-known regional center to accommodate all types of people, rich or poor. After 37 years in dental practice, I have treated patients from all over the world- England, Russia, Scotland, Mexico, Japan, China, India, Turkey, etc. and all throughout North America from Maine to Alaska,
Canada to Mexico. People have come back from Alaska, California, Florida and many other places to have new sets of dentures made again and again. Of course, I cannot do all of the work myself anymore. I have surrounded myself with a team of dentists who do sedation, extractions, fillings, crowns, root canals and many other types of general dentistry. I can now devote all of my time to making partial and complete dentures, offering a wide assortment of teeth and price ranges to accommodate anyone who walks in the door.
Dentistry has come a long way since the days of my first dental visits. I learned from my early experiences that dentistry can be done much easier and more tolerable than my own first experiences. Our aim is to give patients a pleasant experience, as quickly as possible, with great results.
